Best Pokemon Go Nicknames

Pokemon Go celebrates its one-year anniversary since it hit huge popularity and strong critical release, and even though the hype has died down a lot over the past year, millions of daily players still walk, run and take walks with their digital friends, picking up and catching Pokemon along the way. . Even Pokemon Go has recently revitalized the gym scene, changing the way combat works and functions, adding brand new Generation 2 Pokemon a few months ago and support for raid battles with super-tough Pokemon. Even though the scene was pretty crowded and busy a year or so ago, we’re big fans of the game and we know our readers are plentiful.

However, it’s just not enough for your collection of over 230 possible catchable Pokemon. You need to name them too. Everyone has their own way of naming your caught Pokemon in Pokemon Go. We all have our own naming mechanisms for our Poke-friends, whether you name your real-world friends the way you name them, the names of popular and popular memes, or a real pet. Still, sometimes you can’t think of the right name for the new catch or cover. No matter how hard it is, nothing fits the brand new Pinsir, Clefairy, or Pichu. And here we come.

We’ve come up with a few unique names for both your Pokemon and your virtual trainer. Some of these are original and some are collected online from popular publications or memes. These are some funny and creative names that are apt to make some of our favorite friends feel like we did. Let’s take a look at the list.

Eevee Nicknames

For players new to the Pokemon series, Eevee may seem like a bit of a weird Pokemon. Eevee is a small fennec fox-like Normal Pokemon found in the original games, such as Pokemon Red, Green (in Japan), and Blue (international). In the original games in the Kanto region, it is given to Eevee as a gift in Celadon City. Along with a description that Eevee can evolve into three separate Pokemon: Jolteon, electric-type, Vaporeon, water-type, and Flareon, fire-type. For each of these evolutions, you can use various elemental gems that can be purchased to upgrade your Eevee: Waterstone for Vaporeon, meteorite for Jolteon, and firestone for Flareon. It seems simple enough, but when Pokemon Go launched in 2016, in-game items other than Pokeballs were revived, being potions and fruits.

So, for most players, the evolutions of the first Eevee could have been completely random, a roulette wheel you have to spin once you have enough Eevee candies to evolve an Eevee. Still, Pokemon Go trainers have learned that nicknames play a crucial role in how your Eevee evolves. Depending on its nickname, you can force your Eevee to evolve into Jolteon, Flareon, or Vaporeon. Here is the guide, along with an explanation of where the name came from. Spoiler alert – they’re all from long-running Pokemon anime.

  • To turn your Eevee into a Jolteon, name your Eevee Sparky . In the show, Sparky drives a Jolteon while fighting against Team Rocket. Sparky can also refer to Pikachu, the rival Ash faced in Pokemon’s first season. Sparky and his owner Richie are making many appearances in both the Kanto and Johto, as well as the Original Series and Advanced Generation series, and during the “Best Wishes” comeback.
  • To turn your Eevee into a Vaporeon, name your Eevee Rainer from the name of his aquatic Eevee brother.
  • To turn your Eevee into a Flareon, he wrote the Eevee Pyro in his name – you guessed it – the fiery Eevee brother anime.

Three of these siblings didn’t have an Eevee with him, along with his youngest brother, Mikey, in the forty episodes with the anime.

When Pokemon Gold and Silver – the second generation of Pokemon games – launched in 2000 and brought a new line of Pokemon, two new Eeve-lfs were created that were never included in this episode. Espeon is a brand new entry into the canon of psychic type evolution and dark evolution, Umbreon Pokemon. They brought with them new moves and new evolution tactics. To unlock your Espeon, you had to do the same at night to raise Eevee and create an Umbreon after earning a high-level fellowship rank during the day. Later games will add new Eevee-lures to the game, including Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon, but as you might expect, Niantic has yet to reach those generations.

As Pokemon Go doesn’t have any companion skills or rating apps in the game, Niantic once again had to implement their own solutions for Eevee to evolve. But since all three of the Eevee brothers used them, they turned to an entirely different Pokemon to get their name:

  • To turn your Eevee into an Espeon, name your Eevee Sakura – not after the Naruto character of the same name, but one of the Kimono girls from Johto’s Pokemon episodes. Sakura was the main Kimono girl for an episode of Pokemon in its second season, and she’s back in Pokemon Chronicles, a turn-by-turn game that shows the continuing adventures of the characters Ash meets on his journey.
  • To turn your Eevee into an Umbreon , name Eevee Tamao as one of the other Kimono sisters in the same episode as Sakura.

As Pokemon Go continues to add new Pokemon, you’ll no doubt want to take a look at our list to see if it makes any new Eeveelutions appear. Leafeon and Glaceon were both introduced in Generation Four, so we have some time before we get to this new Pokemon. Still, it’s good to keep an eye on the future as you go along.

Oh, and once you’ve evolved Eevee, you can change your nickname to whatever you want. You don’t have to keep names like Rainer or Pyro, but it’s still pretty cool.
