Triund trek is one of the most beautiful treks at Kangra Valley. It is suitable for all kinds of trekkers, from beginners to experienced. It experiences a massive footfall of trekkers every year. The Triund is known for its serenity and magnificent views of Dhauladhar Range & Kangra Valley. It is located near Mcleodganj at the elevation of 2850m(9350 feet). The Mcleodganj is also a famous destination. It is also known as the little Lhasa because of the residence of the Dalai Lama- The 14th Dalai Lama, according to Tibetan Buddhism. It is the place where several Tibetan took refuge after China forcefully undertook Tibet into its governance.

At Mcleodganj, you can feel the blessings of Lord Buddha by visiting Buddhist temples, Monasteries. If you are lucky enough, then you will also get the chance to meet the great personality of this world, the Dalai Lama. How to reach Triund

To reach Triund first, you have to reach Mcleodganj. Mcleodganj is finely connected with all major cities of Himachal Pradesh and cities of nearby states via road transportation. There are three ways to reach there which are following

By Air

The Kangra Airport is the nearest airport of Mcleodganj and the best way to reach there by air. The Kangra Airport is also known as Gaggal Airport. The distance between Gaggal Airport and Mcleodganj is 13km(8 miles). It is well connected with all significant airports via Delhi airport. The flights are on regular bases from Delhi. From the airport, you can find a private tourist taxi to reach Mcleodganj.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Pathankot, which is well connected with all major railway stations of Metro cities and other cities of India. You can check the train running status and booking status from the IRCTC website. From Delhi, you can also find the train to reach Pathankot. The distance between Delhi to Pathankot is 480km. Then from Pathankot is 85 Km.

By Bus

The nearest major city is Chandigarh. From there, you can find several buses to reach Mcleodganj. The ISBT Kashmiri Gate and Majnu Ka Tila are the main bus stands of Delhi. From there, you can discover Volo, Deluxe, Semi Deluxe buses to reach Mcleodganj.

General Travel tips:

  • Travel light and carry minimum weight.
  • If you are traveling in a group, do not wander off on your own. Always follow the trek leader and do not take shortcuts.
  • The trail is not well-defined. It is advisable to be physically fit and have strength and stamina.
  • Do not litter here and there. Keep the surroundings clean & green.
  • Always carry a water bottle and handy snacks in your backpack.
  • Always check the weather conditions before leaving for the trek.
  • Avoid drinking and smoking throughout the journey
  • Eat healthily, and do not skip meals during the trek.
  • Carry all the essential things in your backpack.
  • Always carry ID proof.
  • Always carry a personal medical kit with you as cuts & bruises are very common during the trek.

Gokarna is a small town located on the Arabian sea in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is a famous and one of the important pilgrimage sites in India for the Hindus. The coconut trees surrounding the beach makes the land resemble the letter “C”. The best time to visit the Kudle beach is in the months from November to February.   • Namaste cafe

Namaste cafe is located on the Om beach. It is a major tourist attraction. Namaste cafe offers the best view of the beach at a convenient location. People visit the cafe to relax while looking at the picturesque beach. The food served at the cafe is some of the best food served in the whole town of Gokarna. The cafe’s rise to fame is the delicious food and the stunning view of the beach offered by the cafe. A trip to Gokarna is complete without a visit to the famous Namaste cafe.

  • Koti Tirtha

Koti Tirtha is a man made tank which is flanked by beautiful temples from all the sides. Koti Tirtha is considered as one of the most sacred sites in the entire Gokarna. A popular legend says that this tank is the origin of a thousand springs hence the name Koti Tirtha which literally translates to “a thousand springs”. The tank of Koti Tirtha is used as a site for religious activities like ritual bathing and immersion of idols. The tank of Koti Tirtha is open from 12 in noon to midnight.

  • Nirvana Beach

Nirvana beach is one of the many beaches located in the town of Gokarna. However, the beach is secluded from the town and offers a quiet time to its visitors. One of the most delightful experiences is to watch sunrise or sunset on this beautiful stretch of land. One can even go swimming in the cool waters to relax. Nirvana beach is also a picnic spot. The best time to visit Nirvana Beach is from November to February.

  • Mirjan Fort

The mystical fort of Mirjan is a major tourist attraction which is located on National Highway (NH66). The Mirjan Fort was built in the 16th century on the banks of the river Agnaishi. The fort is considered one of the architectural marvels of its time. The fort is made with laterite stones and has a strong defense mechanism against attracts. Due to this reason it has been used as a site for many wars and still it stands strong. It is a must visit for a history lover and architecture enthusiasts. The best time to visit the Mirjan fort is between the months September to February.
